Fab Three complete the Sea to Sea!

Fab Three complete the Sea to Sea!

Huge congratulations to three more of our fab club members Challise, Alan and Victoria for completing their latest challenge which was the iconic C2C (Sea to Sea) Whitehaven to Tynemouth cycling route.

The ride was a total of 137 miles with a gruelling 3,630m of ascent and spans between the west coast of the Irish Sea (Whitehaven) and across to the east coast of the North Sea (Tynemouth).

With breathtaking landscapes it passed through the northern Lake District before climbing the Pennines and descending to the railway paths of County Durham.

The route includes several notable climbs and two of these were below:

Whinlatter Pass

  • Distance: 3.3 km
  • Max gradient: 15%
  • Height gain: 231 m

Hartside Top

  • Distance 15.7km
  • Maximum gradient 9%
  • Height 400m.

There was of course many other challenging climbs (see Alan’s face below!) all of which delivered a huge sense of achievement particularly after conquering a long stretch of 20% uphill (fist pump from Challise!)

The group had a fantastic time, enjoyed perfect weather and amazing views and are looking for their next cycling challenge… watch this space!

Below is a sample of the fab three sporting their NCCC kit during their epic rides and once again flying the flag for NCCC along the way.

“Huge well done to Challise, Alan and Victoria”

We’ll keep our eyes peeled for your next adventure.
