MINUTES FROM EXTRAORDINARY COMMITTEE MEETING OF NORTH

COTSWOLD CYCLING CLUB: 7PM ON 26th AUGUST 2025 @ THE REVOLUTION

CAFÉ, COTSWOLD CYCLES

Attendees: Martin Lewis (Ride Captain), Paul Flint, James Barlow, Will Biggart, Jeremy Griffiths, Simon Richards, Laura Baskeyfield, Andrew Bray, Henry Eve, Rachel Davies

Apologies: Simon Jones, Simon Taylor

Chairman (JG)

Meeting called due to the closing of Cotswold Cycles / Revolution Café in Moreton, to determine a path forward for North Cotswold Cycle Club.

The chairman mentioned that he was ambivalent to the situation, but the committee did need to find a solution that worked for both the club and its members. Cotswold Cycles / Cotswold Link will remain open until the building is sold / leased. In the interim, it was noted that club members should support TY Cycles in Chipping Norton as much as possible.

Committee

Several options had been proposed by committee and club members since the closure announcement. However, it was unanimously voted that North Cotswold Cycle Club would remain in Moreton-in-Marsh on the basis that this was central to many of its 221 members.

Historically, this was also where the club was founded back in the 1900’s. Given its location, Moreton also offers a variety of rides and remaining in the same location requires no change to the clubs route bank.

Jake Waterhouse had offered the Dekomte building, also based on the business park as a potential start / end point for rides. With access to toilets, water, parking and kitchen if required. This option would allow the club to continue to meet in the same place and have minimal disruption to the club as it stands today. Bakery-on-the-Marsh had also expressed interest to open up on Sunday’s for club riders.

Actions

Jeremy Griffiths – Pursue conversations with Jake @ Dekomte and Alex @ Bakery on the

Marsh and confirm if these are still viable options to propose from Saturday 6th September onwards. In Progress

Paul Flint – Send out comms to the club via social media / email with next steps. DONE
